Sustainability Manager

Royal Ingredients Group, based in Alkmaar and part of the Cefetra Group, is a dynamic trading house with branches in the United States, China, Dubai, and Mexico. We specialize in the international trade of raw materials and ingredients, such as starches, sugars, and plant proteins, for the food, animal feed, and paper industries. The position
As a sustainability officer, you are responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the sustainability policy. The daily activities will be carried out from our location in Alkmaar.
The tasks associated with this position are:
- Translate sustainability topics and requirements into relevant input for the organization;
- Further develop our sustainability standards and policies;
- Establish a sustainability management system;
- Conduct risk and impact assessments of our supply chain activities;
- Ensure compliance with legal due diligence and sustainability reporting requirements;
- Build awareness and cultivate engagement around sustainability initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.
Job requirements
We are looking for an experienced colleague who can further develop and roll out sustainability. Since you are part of our team in Alkmaar, we are looking for someone who is living in the Alkmaar region.
You also have:
- HBO or academic working and thinking level; degree or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related fields;
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, sustainability concepts, and regulations (e.g. EUDR, CSRD);
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
- Experience with project-based work;
- Interest or skills in data analysis, excel and Life Cycle Assessments (LCA);
- Ability to research, summarise and present complex information in a non-technical manner to the organisation.
