In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring that our external stakeholders understand NN Group's approach to corporate citizenship, and that we meet regulatory reporting requirements and stakeholder expectations. You will drive the efforts to consolidate our position as a thought leader in sustainability, responsible investment and community investment. With your expertise in societal issues, you will also assist with policy development as needed.
You will work closely with the responsible Investment, sustainability and community investment content experts in the Corporate Citizenship team, and the colleagues from corporate communications and brand marketing, and other stakeholders to execute our reporting, and communications ambitions.
Your responsibilities
- Translate our Responsible investment, sustainability and community investment activities in easy-to-read/understand content for various stakeholders and channels
- Creating compelling sustainability and community investment related content such as position papers and case studies
- Project coordination for external publications, presentations (e.g. ESG presentation for investors), policy papers and reports, including managing the day to day contact with editors and designers
- Contribute to the strategic storyline and provide recommendations to ensure NN Group's Corporate Citizenship communications remain up-to-date and impactful
- Develop content which can be used for external audiences, and advice (inter) national BUs on their external communications in the area of sustainability and impact
- Driving internal communications, helping to educate and engage our employees on the importance of sustainability, responsible investment and community investment
- Conducting research into sustainability trends, competitor activities, external benchmarks and regulations
- In close collaboration with NN Groups communication and brand marketing teams, implementing strategic communications plans focused on sustainability and impact
- Monitor and track communication efforts and use data insight to implement improvements

What you will bring
The role requires strong communication, writing, and project management skills, as well as a deep understanding of sustainability and community investments issues and trends.
- 5-10 years of experience in a communications role, preferably within the financial services industry, with a comprehensive understanding of the sustainability landscape
- Experience with communication plans, reports and initiatives, including climate change reports and other responsible investment content, and familiarity with reporting frameworks such as CSRD and TCFD
- Experience working in an international multi-cultural setting
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different teams and functions, and multiple external stakeholders including regulators and NGOs
- Excellent communication, writing, and project management skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences
- Degree in communications, finance, economics, sustainability, or a related field preferred
- Excellent English writing skills, and Dutch is a plus

In the international head office of NN Group, you will be part of the Corporate Citizenship (CC) team (ca 30 people) and work closely with the dedicated Responsible Investing, Community Investment and Sustainability experts. We play a central role in ensuring NN is responsibly managing its impact on people, the environment, and the communities in the markets in which we operate. The team supports and advises NN's Management Board and Business Units on how to contribute to positive change in society.
Corporate Citizenship is part of the Corporate Relations (CR) department. At the international head office in The Hague, CR is a support function for NN Group’s Management Board and the business and is divided into specific specialist teams, based on the type of communications, or stakeholder group, for which each division is responsible. In this role you will work closely together with the ESG specialists in the Investment Office and with the Communications and Branding teams.
