Do you have a sharp view of data governance and experience within the financial sector and are you ready to make your fresh ideas known? Then you are the (Senior) Manager Data Governance we are looking for! 

What you will you be doing?

As (Senior) Manager Data Governance you play a key role in helping customers successfully set up, implement and improve their data governance. In this role you advise banks, insurers, asset managers and pension funds in managing their data, governance and compliance issues in an increasingly complex and digitized environment. You will also advise on how clients can effectively exploit new opportunities and at the same time comply with changing laws and regulations regarding data, such as GDPR, AI Act, Digital Services Act, Data Act, ESG and the pension agreement. You will become part of an international and inclusive team within our Risk & Regulation practice, where various projects (internal and external) will fall under your coordination and management. 

As a (Senior) Manager Data Governance you will be involved in, for example: 

  • Further expanding the services and the team that advises clients in the financial sector in the field of data management together with the Partners of the Risk & Regulation team; 
  • Coordinating and leading various project teams in the implementation of transformation programs for clients; 
  • Working in a team on improvement issues for our clients, ranging from readiness assessments to providing recommendations and supporting the implementation of various organizational models, tools and regulations; 
  • Guiding organizations in the design and setup of data governance management processes, roles and responsibilities; 
  • Providing advice on data quality, metadata management, data classification and data security; 
  • Identifying critical data, incl. data catalog, lineage, KPIs and more; 
  • Drawing up implementation and change plans for data policy, people and technology; 
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in digital tools, innovative solutions and market trends; 
  • Developing innovative data solutions and guiding customers through digital transformations to maximize returns from investments in technology such as AI; 
  • Coaching other colleagues so that they can develop the necessary skills and substantive knowledge.

Does this describe you?

You are people-oriented and (socially) agile in political, dynamic and complex environments. You enjoy working together in multidisciplinary teams and like responsibility. You are also a team player who can listen well and clearly communicate ideas to colleagues and customers in order to arrive at the best solution together. You have a combination of strategic and analytical insights, a passion for technology and compliance and you are a go-getter. You work carefully and take into account a multitude of different interests within your work. In addition, you can create powerful reports and visuals and give convincing presentations for (senior) management. 

In this position we are explicitly looking for a (Senior) Manager Data Governance who likes a challenge and is able to build a business case and network, has the ambition to grow into a Director/Partner role and who knows how to inspire colleagues and customers about his/her expertise within the Data Governance domain. 

You have at least 6 years of relevant work experience projects in the field of Governance, Data and Compliance; 

  • You have a completed WO master's degree in Information/Data Management, Innovation Management, Business Administration or another Business/IT/Data oriented study; 
  • You understand the importance of data governance as a basis for digitalization and risk management within organizations and know how to ask this well to discussion partners; 
  • You have knowledge of data governance frameworks and insight into data laws and regulations;
  • You speak and write fluent Dutch and English and can easily adapt to changing work environments; 
  • You are able and willing to travel, often within your own country and sometimes abroad, if necessary for an assignment; 
  • Experience with data governance tooling such as DAMA-DM-BOK is a plus; 
  • Experience with related data management platforms such as MS Purview, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Power BI, Alteryx and UiPath is a plus;
  • Experience and knowledge within the financial sector is a plus.
