As a Senior legal counsel at the flatexDEGIRO no day will be the same. We are a truly dynamic team who work on different cases from different countries every day. You will be dealing with all kinds of legal matters and questions raised that we as Europe’s leading online broker in the financial markets may face. Together with six colleagues in Amsterdam, one colleague in Sofia, and numerous colleagues in Germany you will advise our growing business. Furthermore, you will work with all relevant departments internally as well as correspond with clients, external advisors, banks, regulatory bodies and more. Researching and analyzing Dutch and EU financial legislation, as well as the practice of regulators, courts and other bodies is part of this job.

What you will do

•    Advising the business on financial law matters including but not limited to the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft) and relevant European financial law;
•    Advising the company on regulatory issues relevant to the company and its European operations;
•    Reassuring that our services and related agreements are all up-to-date and comply with the relevant laws and regulations;
•    Reviewing, drafting and negotiating various types of (international) contracts and related documents
•    Monitoring of legal and regulatory developments which are of relevance for the company;
•    Carrying out research on legal and regulatory developments;
•    Maintaining current relationship/develop new relationship with external advisors, other relevant external parties;
•    Management of contracts, corporate documents and other relevant documentation;

Requirements

•    Master Degree in law (knowledge of Dutch and EU financial law) 
•    At least 5 years of working experience preferable in a law firm or as in house lawyer in the financial industry
•    Excellent command of the English is essential
•    Enthusiastic team-player with a pragmatic committed approach and international outlook
•    Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Self-motivated and independent team player
•    Attention to detail
