Management Consultant - Risk Data (BCBS #239)

Your job

The PERDARR Principles (BCBS #239) provide banks with guidelines how to organise their governance and IT infrastructure, risk data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices. At Asset Based Finance, BCBS #239 is a crucial theme and contributes to the strategic goal of a data-driven organization. 

As Risk Data Management Consultant you are adding value to the organization by supporting the organization in risk management decision making with high-quality and compliant risk reports. You are the go-to person for Data Product Owners, Risk Type Owners, Data Users and Data Stewards and enabling them in delivering compliant data-products and key reports!

Your primary responsibility is performing key data management steps for ABFs critical risk data such as identifying data elements for material risk types and key reports and describing data lineage. In everything you do you take the BCBS #239 principles as benchmark. On the other hand you have an oversight function and you ensure that roles and responsibilities in the field of data and risk governance are complied with and that adherence is audited on a regular basis.

Working environment

ABF is a company in transition and, after the legal merger of former ABN AMRO Lease and ABN AMRO Commercial Finance a little over 3 years ago, has successfully taken major steps into becoming ÓNE ABF’. We have harmonized processes over the countries, create x-border teams, moved from (local) legacy apps and infra into centralized IT. We are developing plans to integrate our IT landscape to ABN AMRO’s infrastructure. And we have initiated our data roadmap for the coming years. You will be part of Asset Based Finance. Asset Based Finance is a subsidiary of ABN AMRO .

You will work in the CIOO Department where Data Management is organised within the Data Office. The Data Office is a diverse and international team with professionals working on several Data Management topics. 

Your profile

You are a self-starter with good communication skills. You are eager to learn and/or bring sufficient seniority to be(come) an expert in the field of BCBS #239 / Risk Data Management.

You have: 

• Experienced in data management and/or risk management reporting (Prior experience with BCBS #239 is a strong plus)
• Shown affinity with Finance & Regulatory Reporting in Financial Services
• Knowledge of data management best practices (e.g. DAMA) and/or specific data management topics (e.g. Data Lineage, Data Quality)
• Higher education degree (HBO/WO) in Business, IT, Data or Risk
• You are pro-active and able to work independently
• Able to interact with and challenge different stakeholders 
• Fluent English, written and spoken (Dutch, French or German is not necessary but a pre)
