Compliance Advisor - Global Financial Institutions
You and your job
As a Compliance Advisor you make a meaningful contribution by providing high quality advice on Global Financial Institutions CDD files and help manage an efficient onboarding and review process for Financial Institutions from a Compliance perspective. You are a strong sparring partner for our compliance stakeholders, with thorough knowledge of both the business and the relevant laws and regulations. You have in-depth knowledge of and working experience in the compliance themes CDD, AML and Sanctions.

Responsibilities
Are you curious about what would be on your to-do list on an average working day? As a compliance officer Global Financial Institutions your tasks would include, among others:
- Answering requests for compliance advice drafted by the first line (mainly CDD analysts) and managing the teams' mailbox;
- Advising on an overall integrity risk of Global Financial Institution Clients;
- Advising and challenging the 1st line or responsibility (the business and the CDD analysts) on specific elements of the risk assessment;
- Advising on interpretation and application of the legal requirements, CDD Standards and other relevant policies applicable in the CDD process;
- Liaising with local compliance teams and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) team,, when necessary;
- Advising and managing internal escalation in relation to AML or sanctions signals found during a CDD review;
- Developing and contributing to education programs to increase and refresh knowledge and awareness about CDD Risks and their mitigation;
- Collaboration with several stakeholders in the first and the second line.

You and your talent
- University degree;
- At least 3 years of experience in the compliance (or compliance-related) with demonstrable experience in CDD, AML and/or sanctions;
- Good understanding of the context in which international Financial Institutions operate;
- Good understanding of Financial Markets and Wholesale Banking products and services;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (providing compliance advice by e-mail and face-to-face);
- Conflict management skills (able to explain and defend their point of view, able to demonstrate a level of resilience and confidence when faced with tough situations);
- Risk management skills (able to identify, assesses and mitigate CDD-related risks);
- Critical thinking and complex problem solving;
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks, such as efficiently managing and responding to a high volume of requests for compliance advice via email;
- Customer-oriented;
- Ownership and pro-activity;
- Collaborating and experienced in working within an international context.
This is what we offer you
- Salary between €4.068,63 - € 5.811,03 gross per month (scale 9);
- Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance;
- An extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out;
- Personal budget of € 1.400,- to spend on activities related to your personal development and career;
- €750,- budget to set up your home workplace and up to € 40.00 for working from home allowance per month;
- 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport;
- A combination of working from home and at the office.
